Colombia Highlights 15 Day Tour

This is the arrival day to Colombia and its capital . You will clear customes then our tansport will be waiting for you at the international arrivals area to take you to the hotel selected and take a rest after a long day travel!!!

Depending of the arrival time , you can explore some areas on your own or simply relax and adjust to the City elevation over 8,000 feet.

Today you will visit on of the largest and cosmopolitan cities of South America!!. Our tour start at la Candelaria area (Bogota's old town) and we will bike around the City visiting places such as: Plaza Bolivar, Catedral de Bogota, Casa Narino, Calle 7, San Francisco Church, Parque los Periodistas, Coffee Factory, Fruit Market & the Grafitty tour.

Then we will go to visit Monserrate Hill (Cable Car) located at the East side of Bogota, where you will enjoy a marvelous view of the entire city populated by over 11 millon people. Finally back to the hotel for overnight.

Early in the morning you will go by car to Guatavita Area and its sacred lagoon, this will take around 1 hour from Bogota and at the lake you will do a hike for 1 hour enjoying the Andean landscapes and the lagoon. ­

After this you will go to Zipaquira town not far away from the first stop, at this point you will have some time to explore this magical and colorful town (here you can get something to eat and enjoy with a local beer o juice). This town was the second home town of the famous Colombian writer Gabriel Garcia Marquez. ­

Then you will visit on the most seeing places in the entire Colombia known as La Catedral de Sal Zipaquira. This is cool place to visit that is located 300 feet underground together with one of the oldest salt mines of south America, by 1950 start the construction of the magical wonder that represents the Catholicism in south America. ­

This tour is Self-Guided (multi- languages), it has 22 stations where trough a device (provided at the entrance) you will go on your pace getting to know about this magical place. Then you will meet our transportation to take you back to Bogota and enjoy on your own the rest of the afternoon in the City.

Early in the morning you will take a local flight to Santa Marta (Colombian Caribean Site), upon arrival you will be transfer to the hotel in down town located in the heart of the city.

Then you will have a free afternoon to explore the city and its wide beautiful beach on your own pace or just relax and enjoy the sunset from the hotel rooftop.

This will be a medium-level hiking day, a great way to train for the Lost City trek. Tayrona Park is located just 45 minutes by car from Santa Marta. Once we arrive, our guide will brief you on the full plan and provide information about the park.

The program includes a 2-hour (6 km) hike to Cabo San Juan, passing through Arrecife, Arenillas, La Piscina, and finally San Juan. While it can be a challenging walk, the scenery makes it totally worth it! Upon arrival, you’ll have time to take photos and relax on the beach at your own pace. If you’d like, you can enjoy lunch (not included) at a local restaurant for around $10 USD.

For the return, if you’re feeling tired, you can take a horse ride back for about $15 USD each way or make one last effort to hike back to the starting point.

It is time to be ready for one of the most incredible and amazing hikes over all South America , it is a hidden place in the middle of La Sierra Nevada mountain range.

This is a hard and excited hike , where you will visit remote areas surrounded by just primary forest and local communities.

On this day we will drive you towards El Mamey Village where we will serve lunch and get energy to start the first hike up to Alfredo´s Camp Site. It will be 12 kms approx. ( 6.5 miles ) upon arrival you will get your bed.

(By the way this type of Camp sites in this area are very basic divided in the same big room a lot of bunk beds with mosquito nets each one. it is not going to be a normal hotel during the hike to the Lost City, So get prepared to live this unique experience).

At 4:30 am , it is time to wake up and pack before breakfast. This day you will hike longer than before, splitted in two parts.

First it is going to be 7 Kms (4 miles approx.) up to a Wiwa Camp , where you will rest for a bit a have lunch.

Then is going to a hike up to reach the highgest point of the day (it could be a little hard, but you can do it!!). After that, we will continue towards El Paraiso (10 kms or 6 miles approx.) Camp to rest and spend the night (this one is also a Humble spot, where you will sleep, I´m sure after this day hike you will feel ready for bed right after dinner.

Overnight: El Paraíso Camp (THERE IS NOT UPGRADES FOR THIS PART OF THE TOUR)

Star your days with an early breakfast at 5:00 am, but you wont have to pack right away because on this day we will take you visit the Lost City which is very close from the Camp site , so you only need the hiking gear , camera and more energy to climb over 1200 steps that are guarding this Archeological Complex!!!.

You will be one of the first to visit the place , where you can enjoy and admire the sacred place and enchanted by the Indian and their ancestors for more than 700 years.

You will have time to take the best pictures , ususally in the morning the wheather is very good and sunny, perfect for this propose.

We will take you on a guided tour around many sites at the complex and finally we will return back to the Camp for lunch , packing , shower and start our way back to a Wiwa Camp for the night.

Happy morning!! but early to start our final way back towards El Mamey village (15 Kms. or 10 miles), here we will serve lunch and finally we will take you back to Santa Marta City for overnight (this day is a great combination between basic to comfort , I guess you will need and deserve it!!!)

This is a scenic drive from Santa Marta along Colombia’s coastal highway, with stunning views of the Caribbean Sea throughout the journey. Along the way, we'll stop in Barranquilla for a quick snack before continuing on to the historic city of Cartagena.

Upon arrival, we'll begin a guided tour of Cartagena, where our expert guide will take you through the city's most iconic sites, including the San Felipe Castle, the vibrant Getsemaní neighborhood, the commercial district, and the beautifully preserved colonial downtown, dating back to the 16th century.

We’ll then head to the hotel, where you’ll have the rest of the afternoon free to relax and enjoy a breathtaking Caribbean sunset.

Early flight to Medellin (30 minutes approx.) upon arrival, we’ll take you on a guided city tour that includes a visit to Comuna 13, where you'll learn about its transformation, local life, and the historical context surrounding Pablo Escobar.

You’ll also enjoy a scenic cable car ride with panoramic views of the city, see the famous Botero sculptures, explore Parque Lleras, and visit a few more highlights along the way.

At the end of the day, you’ll have some free time to relax, whether enjoying the hotel’s gardens, resting in your room, or simply unwinding at your own pace.

Morning depart to visit one of the most famous areas of all Colombia, the excursion start from Medellin downtown towards to a Picturesque town known as Marinilla, and we will continue towards Guatape Lake and you will board a motor boat tour around the area, where you can see fantastic views for pictures and one of Escobar's Houses as well as other rich family houses.

Then you will visit a place known as La Replica (it is a typical little village, where you can take beautiful photos and buy some souvenirs). After we will continue towards the famous Gigantic rock called "El Peñol de Guatape", (it is a natural formation created 80 million years ago) this rock is more than 220 meters high (700 ft.) so to access to the top you have to go over 720 steps, but it is not difficult at all. Stunning views of the all valley from above!!!!

Finally we will visit Guatape town, where you will have enough time to visit on your own and take as many pictures you desire or get a nice souvenir. At the end of the day we will return back to Medellin for overnight.

Early in the morning, we will transfer you back to the Airport in Medellin for a local flight to Pereira City or Armenia. Then we will drive you to Salento village (very colorful town with its unique houses).

You will enjoy a full tour of the coffee farm guided by one of our local experts. At the end of the visit, you will have the chance to taste as many cups of high-quality coffee as you like, all included in the program!

Finally, we will head back to Salento for overnight.

On this day, you will have the opportunity to visit the Cocora Valley and its surroundings in a classic Jeep Willy (subject to availability; depending on the season, this activity may be done in a private car).

In the park, you can enjoy a walk for an hour or more, depending on your preferences and weather conditions, as you admire the towering Giant Wax Palms (one of the country’s most iconic trees).

The hike can be extended up to 5 hours if the entire group agrees, or you may opt for a shorter 1-hour walk.

Finally, return to Salento for an overnight stay.

You will have a free morning to relax or enjoy your last moments in Salento at your own pace. At 12:00 PM, we will check out and head to Pereira Airport for your afternoon flight back to Bogotá.
