Day 1

ARRIVAL TO BOGOTA

Arrival day to Colombia and its capital Bogota . After customes our tansportation will be awaiting for you at the International arrival. Transfer to your hotel. Enjoy for a rest after a long day travel!

If you have some time, you might want to explore on your own or simply relax and adjust to the City altitude over 8,000 feet.

Day 2

ZIPAQUIRA - SALT MINE CATEDRAL - GUATAVITA

After an early breakfast you will have a one hour drive to Guatavita Area and its sacred lagoon , at the lake one hour hike enjoying the andean landscapes and the lagoon. Continue drive to to Zipaquira town not far from Guatavita. the second home town of the famous colombian writer Gabriel Garcia Marquez. Enjoy some time to explore this magical and colorful town ( here you can have lunch and enjoy a local beer o juice ). After lunch continue for a self guided tour to Zipaquira Salt Cathedral, one of the most visited places in Colombia, located 300 feet underground in one of the oldest salt mines of South America. It´s construction started in 1950 and represents the Catholisism in South America.

This Self Guided (multi- lingual), has 22 stations. Trough a device ( provided at the entrance ) you will go on your pace getting to know about this magical place. Our transportation will be waiting for you to take you back to Bogota. Afternoon at leisure.

Day 3

FLIGTH TO CARTAGENA - CITY TOUR

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for a local flight to Cartagena . Upon arrival you will be received by our expert guide with whom you will start Cartagena's Tour , explore the highlights of the city such as; Castillo de San Felipe , Getsemani neighborhood , the comercial area and the down town , which still exist since XVI century.

Transfer to your hotel, time at leisure to enjoy the city and admire the sunset.

Day 4

TOUR TO ISLAS DEL ROSARIO

After breakfast, transfer to the port. We will sale to visit La Isla del Rosario and some other places near by for the entire day enjoying the Caribbean Sea and its beauty. Lunch is included.

Upon our return to the port you will be at leisure to walk to your hotel or take some time for shopping.

Day 5

GETTING TO MEDELLIN - TOUR TO GUATAPE

Overland transfer to the airpor for a local flight to Medellin . Excursion starts at Medellin Airport, will go towards to a pictorestic town known as Marinilla where you will try a typical Paisa breakfast. After breakfast continue towards Guatape Lake to board a motor boat for a tour around the area. You will be able to observe a pintorestic views as well as one of Escobar's Houses and some other amaizing houses in this rich neighborhood. We will continue to La Replica, a little typical village ,where you can take beautiful photos and buy some souvenirs. After we will continue towards the famous Gigantic rock called El Penon de Guatape , a natural formation created 80 million years ago, this rock is over 220 meters high ( 700 feet), to reach to the top you have 720 steps , but it is not difficult at all. Stunning views of the all valley from above!!!! After this spectacular experience is time for a delicious typical lunch ending with a visit to Guatape town , where you will have enough time at leisure to visit on your own take pictures and get nice souvenirs . Overland transfer to Medellin for overnight.

MEDELLIN TOUR - SALENTO

After breakfast, guided Tour around the city including Comuna 13 (all history about Pablo Escobar and the locals ), take a Cable Car ride to admire the City from above , Botero sculptures , Parque Lleras and few other places more along the way. Finally local flight to Pereira. Upon arrival overland transfer to Salento for overnight.

Day 7

COFFEE TOUR

This is the coffee day and its colours!!, arter breakfast we will take you to visit a local coffee farm not far from Salento town , it is known as Buenos Aires and produces coffee from over 100 years. Upon arrival you will have an explanation about one of the most important industries in Colombia. After an entire guided visit of the farm, try as many different cups of the best coffee as you desire ( it is all included in our program!!! ) Lunch at the Farm enjoying a beautiful view. After lunch hike around Cocora Valley. Drive to Armenia for your flight to Bogota.

Day 8

GETTING TO TATACOA DESSERT

After an early breakfast, start your journey at 6 a.m. by van towards Neiva and the Tatacoa desert in a journey of approximately 5 hours, discovering the unique fauna and landscape of the Tatacoa Desert, the second largest arid zone in the country in a journey of approximately 5 hours. On the way you will pass through the department of Tolima and its picturesque rice fields. You can also try a typical plate “Lechona” or a local “Tamal”. Continue to Villavieja, where you'll visit the city's paleontology museum. Villavieja is one of those places in the world where time seems to have stopped, it is a place where you experience a feeling of peace and tranquility, it is a point where the immediate technological connection is put aside to prepare to enter a state of connection with the cosmos. This dry region is the second largest arid zone in Colombia after the Guajira peninsula, and is characterized by two types of rocks with different colors: red rocks in the sector near Cuzco, and gray ones in the area near “Los Hoyos " As you discover the desert, check out local wildlife, including birds, snakes, spiders, and ocelots. Even if you don't see any creatures, you will surely enjoy the spectacular landscape.

Day 9

BOAT TOUR IN MAGDALENA RIVER

After breakfast we will get ready for a boat tour along the Magdalena River. Your professional guide, will take you to board a boat and start your 1-hour tour along the longest river in Colombia. After the boat ride you will be taken back to the hotel to pick up your luggage and start your journey by land back to Bogotá. This road trip will take list 6-hour approximately, depending on the traffic conditions. We should be back to Bogotá at approximate 7pm.
