This tour has two schedules 1 in the morning and 1 in the afternoon , either ways we offer the same experience as follows: We pick up you from your hotel location and drive towards the outskirts of Quito (just 30 minutes far from the City Center) . On the way you will see some of the poor neighborhoods and our guide will explain more about the reality of the low income families overall.Then we will meet the Abuela ( Gladys ) in her house ( this is not a museum or open restaurant ) , She will tell us her life and her culture while we visit the house , pick our own coffee beans and get reayd to make some Corn Tortillas.
She has a lot of histories about Ecuador and locals for over 70 years to tell. Then it is time to process coffee (you will get to know about their all family process) and if your idea is to learn how to make the tortillas , you will also participate with great advises. Then it is time to share with the family what you will participate doing and the best part off course is trying!!!
Finally we will say good bye to the Abuela and we will drive you back to your hotel.
